It could just be us... but the Sunday scaries are hitting harder these days. Let’s fight them by setting up a mid-week treat for our future selves! This plan can be done solo or with a friend, just pick a Wednesday night around 7pm-10pm.

First step: Find a Wednesday night opening and book your $15 sound healing meditation: https://www.eventbrite.com/e/sound-soul-tickets-259251035827. You’ll want to bring a yoga mat (plus blankets and pillows for max comfort) and plan to be there before 8:30pm. Please keep in mind the theme of the art installations in this spot change regularly, but the experience is still 🤌 no matter what.

Next, (if you are bringing a friend) make a res for around 7-7:30pm for bites and drinks before your session: https://www.caferoze.com/reservations/. Give about 15 min of drive time to the Cë Gallery, just don’t be later than 8:45pm or they’ll start without you (more on all of this later).

To start, we’re hitting Cafe Roze, a dimly-lit, trendy spot with small plates and CBD drinks on the menu. It’s the building with the cute neon sign, right on the corner of Porter Rd. and Greenwood Ave. on the east side. It’s open daily 8am-10pm with free street parking nearby, so once you snag a spot, head inside to find the host.

Walk into an open space with tall ceilings, soft colors and different textures throughout, and a pink hue from the neon sign glowing into the room. Settle in for bites and drinks to start your relaxing night out! (PS: it’s okay to have a boozy drink if you’d like - the next stop doesn’t involve physical activity). Take your time to enjoy the ambiance while you finish up, then head back to your car to drive ~15 min to the Cë Gallery.

Sound Bath Meditation

We’re ending at the Cë Gallery, which gives off major speakeasy vibes: a hidden space, themed art installations that transform each room, and soft colorful lighting. They host a guided sound meditation session every Wednesday from 8:30pm-9:30pm followed by a mixer where they serve tea and play neo-soul tunes in the background. The current theme is an ~enchanted disco garden~ by the artist @thethrivegoddess but they rotate new ones every few weeks (so you can have a totally different experience each time). 

They have limited parking onsite, with overflow in the strip mall behind the gallery, so once you’ve parked be sure to grab your yoga mat (and any other blankets/pillows) and head inside.

You’ll step into an intimate room with dim lighting, silver fringe lining the perimeter, greenery and flowers hanging above, with a disco ball as the centerpiece. Find any open spot to lay down your mat, just be sure you can still see the instructor, and begin to relax before the session starts!

First, head over to Cafe Roze. This place has a warm and cozy ambience.

Perfect for an intimate date night or a solo date for yourself. To start,

I decided to go with the trout dip and I'm so glad I made that decision.

Next drive, 15 minutes to the Cë gallery. Make yourself some hot herbal tea,

then wait for your instructor to give you the next move.

Don't be afraid to mix and mingle around the room as I

had some pretty great conversations before it started. After it was over,

I told the instructor of how it was the best I have felt in months.

All you need to do is clear a Wednesday out of your schedule and bring a yoga mat.

Curry Boys in East Nashville is wild in the best way.

Think smoked brisket or pulled pork layered over jasmine rice,

just like I have been with the ube cheesecake I got.
