Spend a sunny day in West Seattle. You’ll take the water taxi, ride scooters to a nautical brunch spot, sip beers while looking at the water, then end with a cocktail while you wait for the ferry back to Seattle. For my West Seattlites, skip the water taxi steps 😉. 

A Perfect Date in West Seattle

Take the walk-on water taxi from Downtown Seattle, arriving in West Seattle in about 15 minutes, then enjoy hourly departures.

Water Taxi Ride

✅ Before you go: 
• This is a walk-on water taxi - no cars allowed
• Buy your ticket at the terminal ($5/pp), which is located at Pier 50 in Downtown Seattle, or you can use your Orca Card
• The taxi takes about 15 minutes

❗️Heads up: Water taxis depart Pier 50 every hour, with the first one at 8:30am and the last one at 6:30pm. Check the schedule here: https://kingcounty.gov/depts/transportation/water-taxi/west-seattle.aspx

After disembarking the water taxi at the marina next to Marination Ma Kai, rent scooters or bikes for a scenic ride to lunch.

📍The ferry will drop you off at the marina next to Marination Ma Kai. You’ll see tons of bikes and scooters around here to rent.

• Stop for a pic by the lock fence - it’s the halfway point with an incredible view of Downtown Seattle

📍Harry’s Beach House is located on Alki Beach and has a sweet, nautical aesthetic, with shipwrecked paintings, a wooden bar, exposed brick, and an outdoor patio. Not to mention their menu is stacked with elevated breakfast staples.

• Their bloody mary is perfect with a 3.5/5 spice level 
• Start with a half dozen oysters
• Their eggs benny with lemon hollandaise sauce and the kale caesar with salmon are both terrific

Alki Beach Park is ideal for relaxing or strolling post-lunch, offering stunning waterfront views right across from Harry’s Beach House.

At West Seattle Brewing Co. (TapShack), relax in sand-filled Adirondack chairs facing the water, and enjoy a Lazy Hazy Pale Ale on their scenic patio.

Marination Ma Kai, an LGBTQ-owned venue in Seattle, offers Hawaiian-inspired fare and cocktails with stunning downtown views, perfect for waiting for your ferry ride.

• People will be putting in food orders at the front counter but since you’re just getting drinks, head straight to the back deck area to place your cocktail order
• Their jalapeño fizz was delicious
• Chill here until your ferry back home to Seattle arrives next door (you should be able to see it from Marination’s patio)

Let's go to a cozy natural wine bar tucked away in Fremont.

The Botanicale started as a plant store but has now evolved into the cutest wine bar.

but they also allow outside food and drink,

and the group next to us even brought in a delicious looking charcuterie spread.

I'll definitely be doing that next time I go.

are super friendly and knowledgeable about their wine.

They like to know their growers and currently have met about 80% of them.

About half the wine they pour is local to Seattle and Oregon.

I and my husband decided to grab lunch together.

We hardly ever get to have lunch together on weekdays and we wanted to change that,

but he also had to get back to the office.

We needed something really fast and filling,

so we tried this Vietnamese spot called Nomha's Kitchen.

Located one block down from the Seattle library,

staple lunch place for the office crowd around downtown.

We got their ban me and Ayo literally said,

which was basically tacos but with boughs,

and isn't that truly genius and was so comforting.

This place checks all the boxes for a great lunch spot.

Head to Miniso in Woodinville

The space is modern with lots of greenery,

and it feels like a great place to hang out or get some work done.

The seasonal ube latte is subtle but really fun,

and the breakfast sando has a really interesting chili kick. With coffee in hand,

The first thing I saw was a cute Snoopy collab,

and right next to it is a huge section of blind boxes.

and all kinds of everyday findings like lunchboxes,

cute eye shadows and super affordable hair clips,

stationeries and pet accessories you never know you needed.

And of course a whole section of Asian snacks at the end.

I got the crawfish flavored Lay’s chips which I absolutely

love and a cute blind box with a clock display.
