• Lifetime Fitness (Arboretum location) owns the access to Quarry Lake, so you'll need to purchase a day pass inside the gym. It costs $40/person for the day, but gives you access to the lake and all Lifetime Fitness amenities.

• There is free parking right next to the lake behind Lifetime Fitness

💪Pro tips: 
• There is a 1K dirt running trail around the lake, this is a great spot to go for a stroll before your swim!

Just buy a day pass when you arrive, then walk to the lake.

Your walk at the lady bird lake has gotten even prettier with this beautiful addition. The $25 million Wishbone project started in 2024 to provide a Y shaped bridge connection between Lady bird lake and Holly Peninsula is now completed and fully open to the public. It has beautiful benches, sitting area around the lake, and a beautiful tunnel with murals representing what’s Austin is all about during the day and at night. You want to see it!

Fun facts about the bridge:
- The Wishbone Bridge and Unity Underpass in East Austin is $25 million infrastructure project that creates a continuous, traffic-free pedestrian and bicycle loop on the Ann and Roy Butler Hike-and-Bike Trail at Lady Bird Lake.
- Funded by the 2020 Mobility Bond and federal funding, construction ran from July 2024 through early 2026.
- Over a period of 90 days, 12 artist worked together with 689,000 stone pieces to create this beautiful tunnel. This is all hands made!
- It provides a safety feature to replace the old creepy and unsafe tunnel as it is widened and well-lit at night to allow users to pass safely under South Pleasant Valley Road.



💪 Pro tips
- Parking can be tricky so to get direct access to the tunnel, please use the address to the wishbone bridge provided here. If you put just Lady bird lake in your gps, you will take the longest route to it even though you will enjoy a beautiful scenery while walking there. 
- Plan to visit during not so crowded hours. Best time is 11 am to early afternoon, or during the week if you can. 
- To enjoy a beautiful view at night, come right before the sunset, and stay to see the tunnel light up!

Drive Out to Sherwood Forest Faire

Here's an edge to escape to another magical world for a day.

a renowned Renaissance and medieval themed festival located in McDade.

The grounds are just full of things to do and see with a full schedule of shows all day,

It takes a whole day to really soak it in and explore,

so I recommend getting here as early as you can,

but you really do feel like you're transported to another world,

which feels like the perfect place to be right now.

They open every spring and will be open every weekend until April 19th this year.

but I loved it so much I went two weekends in a row,

just grab your favorite little fairies and drive out this spring.
