• There are beautiful trails all over the property, but you can also explore Seneca Rocks (~45 min drive): https://www.alltrails.com/trail/us/west-virginia/seneca-rocks 
• BYOFirewood if you want to make a fire outside. They also have some available for purchase at their office
• Each cabin has WiFi but I recommend completely unplugging & letting yourself get away

Start your day with a stunning sunrise hike at Lindy Point Observation Deck, a scenic 10-minute walk through the snowy landscape of Davis, WV.

• Be sure to check your sunrise time the night before and leave about 1.5 hours before that 
• When you arrive, you'll walk for about 10 mins to the observation deck 

💪Pro tip: 
• If the small road is blocked off, park by the sledding hill and walk the .25 miles in to the trailhead

At Elakala Falls Trail in Davis, WV, enjoy a scenic snowy hike along a 4.3-mile loop, complete with breathtaking views and a serene forest setting.

• Bring hiking snacks!
• It was slippery, but we hiked in sneakers and it was totally fine

💪Pro tips: 
• If you get a little lost (like we did), put Balanced Rock into Google Maps for some good views
• There are a ton of overlooks & little trails to stop at when you're done if you want some more time in nature

Explore Thomas, WV, enjoy live music at Purple Fiddle, and watch free glass blowing demonstrations at Glass by Scott. Indulge in local culture and art galleries.

Experience high-speed sledding at Blackwater Falls State Park Sled Run, with sessions available through early March.

Try  🛷 at Blackwater Falls State Park Sled Run

Let's go! You'll stay at the coziest cabin, go on the longest sled run,

hike to the tallest point in West Virginia at sunrise,

explore an artsy small town, and climb frozen waterfalls.

First, check into your stay at Harman's Luxury Log Cabins.

Each cabin is right on the river and feels like a grown up Lincoln Log

cabin and comes with a personal hot tub in the back. Your first morning,

get up early to leave for your sunrise hike at Lindy Point.

Park and hike for about 10 minutes through the snow before getting to the point,

and let's just hope you get better colors than we did.

Next, head to the adorable town of Thomas to warm

up with some craft lattes at TipTop coffee. 

They have a ton of CBD products, non-alcoholic drinks and delicious pastries.

Now let's head out for a hike at Elakala Falls. 

These massive falls are hidden within the forest and are so worth the trip.

You'll do the 4.3 mile loop through the snow and find Balance Rock at the top.

That night, head back to Thomas for live music at the Purple Fiddle

and take time to poke around the quirky art galleries.

Have a slow morning the next day at the cabin before you head out to Blackwater Falls, 

a 57 foot cascade, making it West Virginia's highest waterfall.

In the winter, it's half frozen, making it especially beautiful.

And of course we had to cap off the trip with a

few sled runs at the longest sled run on the East Coast,

grab your sled and enjoy a speedy and slippy ride.

They have so many expertly crafted whiskey cocktails,

including a peanut butter whiskey espresso martini,

and it's also surrounded by so many food options.

nestled in Gaylord National's iconic atrium,

the new Whiskey Revolution tasting room is a place where enthusiasts

and newcomers alike can explore more than 100 different expressions.

I got to attend the opening celebration and

try a ton of Gaylord Nationals food offerings,

as well as a lot of their cocktails and whiskeys,

ranging from bourbons to scotches and whiskey.

You're guided by their knowledgeable staff who will serve the perfect pour 

you can also indulge in expertly crafted whiskey cocktails.

My absolute favorite was the peanut butter whiskey Espresso martini.

Pair this with one of the many different restaurants
