First head to YOGA & GOGA where you can work

out with some very stylish baby goats. During class,

the instructors would literally hand us goats to hold and mid pose

you might just end up with a goat on your back. The baby goats were also super

Hiking & Camping at Colorado Bend State Park

Reserve a campsite at Colorado Bend State Park in San Saba for scenic hiking, camping, and outdoor adventure. Enjoy trails, waterfall hikes, and creek views.

• You can also take a cave tour at the park here: https://www.cbcaves.com/index.html.
• The cell phone reception is poor.  Expect to not be able to use your phone while here.

💪 Pro tips
•There are drive-up sites, walk-in tent sites or primitive hike-in sites.
• There are 35 miles of hike and bike trails. The park also offers boating, fishing, paddling, swimming, and bird watching options.
• I recommend the Gorman Falls Hike.  It’s about a 3-mile round trip hike that ends at a 70-foot spring-fed waterfall. Be careful on the descent.  The rocks are extremely slippery so make sure you use the rope for stability.
• I also recommend the Spicewood Canyon Trail.  It’s about a 2-3 mile out-and-back hike with a creek.  
• The trails are accessible for day use hiking.  The park opens at 6 am daily and closes at 10 pm, except for overnight customers.
• Make sure to bring plenty of water and stay hydrated. There are water spigots available in the campground as well.

Reserve a Campsite

If you enjoy a weekend full of hiking, camping, and scenic views, then this is the plan for you.

First, head over to Colorado Bend State Park and set up your campsite.

It's about a 2 hour drive from Austin in the Hill Country region.

The campsites offer picnic tables, a grill, and there are bathrooms nearby as well as water.

Once you are settled in, I recommend checking out the Gorman Falls hike.

As you get closer to the end of the hike, the rocks are extremely slippery, so make sure you use the rope for stability.

You'll have a nice view of the river once you get there.

And there's also a lookout point close to this hike that I suggest you check out for unbelievable views.

The Spicewood Canyon Trail is another great hike, and it also has some picturesque views for you to enjoy.

After all the hiking, you will want to relax with some food and drinks so make sure you pack well for the trip.

I also like to bring games and vibe out to music while camping.

This place is free to visit and take plenty of pictures! It’s located near the Austin Airport so this is the perfect place to take someone visiting Austin for the first time if they’re not too tired from their trip. And if you’re an OG in Austin and you haven’t visited some murals,  then Now it’s the time! 

💪 Pro tips
• Parking for this place can be tricky to find. Follow the sign for “Hope Outdoor Galery” to find the parking and entrance. Your GPS might take you to the back. Please pay attention to the signs on the road. 
• If you’re planning to spray paint, bring some mask to help you paint. Spray bottles are about $7-$10.
• Some walls are newly painted, be careful not too touch them.

💪 Pro tips

I used a Partiful invite to get all my guests to RSVP and to tell me their protein selection (steak, chicken, scallops, shrimp, salmon). I also linked in to my Venmo so that they could contribute to the per person cost of the experience. 

I originally wanted to have my party in my backyard but the weather was really cold (January ‘26 freeze) so we kept it indoors. The hibachi team was really accommodating 

I ordered plates, cups, and silverware from Amazon. I also bought wine for everyone (Rex Goliath is good and cheap in bulk) from HEB. 

All star hibachi took care of the rest. They brought the food, sake, candle, a crown for me, karaoke set up, speakers, etc.

but what I was not expecting was the entertainment.

but they also brought a whole karaoke system for us.
