• It's about a 1.5 hr drive from the city. I recommend arriving by 10AM to avoid crowds and give yourself time to explore the local farmers' markets &/or wineries nearby 
• The boardwalk stretch is about 2 miles with the option to keep hiking on another, more difficult trail called Stairway to Heaven (here: https://www.alltrails.com/trail/us/new-jersey/stairway-to-heaven-and-pochuck-valley-via-appalachian-trail). That hike has a beautiful view from the top if you're game to keep going! 
• Definitely bring water 
• Dog-friendly!
• No bathrooms on the trail, so plan accordingly!
• There's plenty of spots to curl up with a good book (like I did)

I love an excuse to check out a new neighborhood.

So here are two gems we stumbled upon in Queens the other day.

Tucked away in the backyard of one of my favorite New York City

shops is an alfresco extension of their store which I was obsessed with.

Like that is so cute and aesthetically pleasing.

I feel like I haven't seen that done before.

Lockwood has the cutest home and paper goods,

I came away with this cutie mango popsicle magnet.

We decided to continue the alfresco theme for dinner at Aliata,

are we in Cyprus or are we in New York City?

We love Mediterranean food and it was perfect.

Everything was so fresh and this mixed grill with potatoes was incredible.
