• Grab bikes from Jus' Bikes (they're the cheapest on the island!) or The Bike Depot 
• Avoid getting electrical bikes or scooters - a lot of the trails in Assateague don't allow motor vehicles. Get a beach cruiser

• If it's warm out, bring beach supplies - it was too cold & foggy when we went but the beach is great!
• Bring bug spray - the flies get bad in the summer

We started our trip strong with this boat ride

into the marshes to see some wild horses.

He brought us so deep into the marshes that we could see a ton of herds of horses.

And if you're lucky, you'll see baby foals just like we did.

This totally fulfilled our middle school horse girls dreams.

After a long day, we headed back to our farmstay booked through HipCamp.

We stayed at this adorable family-run farm which really allowed us to unplug

and have a slow morning where we got to watch them milk cows,

take a soak in the clawfoot tub, and hang out with all the sweet animals.

If you're looking for a little oasis away from the city,

where they're open from Tuesdays to Sundays,

and you get to tour the gorgeous Hillwood mansion.

You get to pretty much see all of the rooms in this house.

but the real showstopper is all of the outdoor spaces and the gardens.

This here is the Japanese inspired garden that sits on a hill.

It is so gorgeous and there are even some like interactive pieces.
