💪 Pro tips

• Plan better than I did (especially if you’re a woman of color) and wash your hair in advance to save the time when you get there
• Bring your own shampoo if you don’t want to use what they provide 
• The post-float shower is important – be sure to thoroughly rinse (especially your face) if you don’t want to have leftover salt stuck to the side of your face lol 
• We were in a single float tank for the content, but the larger one comfortably fits two 
• I wished I’d thugged it out a little longer on the cold plunge – I’ve heard it has great benefits – so hang in there if you can

Don't worry. I was too before doing this, but I heard great things about float tanks

I'm a big fan of treating myself like almost to a fault

We grabbed some CBD drinks for the ultimate relaxation

and the staff gave us a tour of the facility.

After we showered, we plugged our ears and got on in.

So the float cabin holds like 1100lbs of epsom salt

which is why you're able to float effortlessly.

It's giving the dead sea without having to travel.

The magnesium sulfate acts as a muscle relaxer,

anti inflammatory and a detoxification agent and it's hella relaxing.

Eventually, we were brave enough to close the cabin door for the full experience.

But don't worry, you can opt to keep the lights on.

After our float we headed to the fire and ice room to push all sorts of boundaries.

My girl here got in so gracefully and handled it like an actual champ.

Me, on the other hand, I hate being cold, but I also hate to feel like a loser.

So I managed for approximately 0.3 seconds just to be able to say I did it.

which was obviously warm but also really cool because you

can watch an actual show during your sweat sesh.

we walked just around the corner to Feng Cha for another little treat.

I got the Thai iced tea and she got a Vietnamese iced coffee

and it was just what we needed to round out the day.

I have subtly been looking for a great steak sandwich in the

city and I finally found it at Mendocino Farms in West Village.

which is just so crazy because it's mine too,

Me and Cynthia got quite the spread of food.

We got two incredible sandwiches and two salads that I can't stop thinking about.

Cynthia got their seasonal spicy Calabrian turkey

focaccia with the most delicious basil pepper

especially the sauce in the focaccia sandwich.

So I got the Peruvian steak sandwich and God literally sent this to me.

It's everything that I've been looking for.

I also got the Golden State cob and it was so delicious,

but I have to give a shout out to this avocado and quinoa superfood salad.

Everyone knows the universal love language is coffee.

and he walked us through this entire class step by step.

We started off by smelling some of their freshly roasted coffee beans.

and we even got this packet that highlighted

different flavor notes for the coffee beans,

and it had a little journal so you can take notes.

poured just a bit of hot water to get it to a certain tare on the scale,

And you'll see it form this cakey texture.

We then did our main pour and let it steep and rest,

which really allows all of the flavors to come through in the coffee.

Alyssa loved the medium roast and my favorite was the dark roast,

we even got to play a little quiz game with everyone at the end.

Our amazing server Cameron sprinkled sesame and peanuts,

You all will then take your chopsticks and toss your salad ingredients up in the

air as high as you can to make all of your goals come true,

but be careful because if any ingredients fall off your plate,

You'll then enjoy and eat your salad together to lock

in your goals and make sure they all come true.

This was so much fun to do with the group.

I used a Partiful invite to get all my guests to RSVP and to tell me their protein selection (steak, chicken, scallops, shrimp, salmon). I also linked in to my Venmo so that they could contribute to the per person cost of the experience.

I originally wanted to have my party in my backyard but the weather was really cold (January '26 freeze) so we kept it indoors. The hibachi team was really accommodating
 
I ordered plates, cups, and silverware from Amazon. I also bought wine for everyone (Rex Goliath is good and cheap in bulk) from HEB.

All star hibachi took care of the rest. They brought the food, sake, candle, a crown for me, karaoke set up, speakers, etc.

but what I was not expecting was the entertainment.

but they also brought a whole karaoke system for us.

All-Star Hibachi was making sure that all of them were well taken care of,
