• Ask for a tube with the mesh bottom (instead of open bottom) so you don’t feel as many creatures 🐟
• At least one person will need a phone with them to call ahead for the shuttle at the end, so put it in a waterproof bag! 

Take a day trip to Fox Hollow River Tubing in Sheridan, IL

I went on the most adventurous day trip outside of Chicago,

We went to Sheridan, Illinois to find Fox Hollow Tubing,

which is basically a little shack that rents out inner tubes

We cruised three miles down the river, soaking up the views with our favorite drinks

and snacks in our cooler tube, before we took the shuttle back to the start.

I am very comfortable in the ocean, but the river was a bit out of my comfort zone.

I got well acquainted with the local bugs and what I hope were

fish under me and ran into a few fallen trees along the way.

BUT, I can be talked into any trip that involves a day in the sun.

I took a walking tour with Paseo Boricua's tour company.

We walked all along Division Street in Humboldt Park,

We also stopped in a number of locally owned

She gave us some samples when we walked in and everything was so delicious.

I am definitely going back to purchase a full dessert.

Then I decided to venture out a little bit on my own.

which is also located on Division Street.

They have a number of Puerto Rican items and religious items.

and I had this amazing breakfast sausage sandwich to finish my day.

If you're looking for a quick and easy lunch,

you have to check out Gigi's Chicken Shop on Southport.

It's a cute little place that specializes in all things chicken,

So we ordered the original fried chicken sandwich,

but you can also get it with rotisserie chicken,

I loved the addition of pickled red onions here,

and having both like kale and Brussels salad in it
