We just went on the ultimate Woodstock weekend getaway where we did goat yoga,

saltwater pool and s’mores included - and took a dip in a unique natural swimming hole.

which is a whimsical Bob Dylan inspired hotel and a great home base for the weekend.

We lounged at the pool before heading into town to eat at Garden Cafe,

with a back patio that truly does feel like a garden.

Then we took advantage of being right next to

a beautiful path along the northern shore of the

Ashokan Reservoir and went for a walk. Back at the hotel,

enjoy a bonfire and s’mores before you rest up for a full day tomorrow.

We started our next morning with breakfast in town at Bread Alone,

Definitely get the avocado toast and some pastries and eat on their outdoor patio.

Then, just a few steps down the street is Mud Club which has matcha

(my favorite!) and coffee, and swings in the front to sip your beverage on!

And then it was time for goat yoga and it was the best experience!

The goats are so cute and affectionate and the goat handlers

would come over and give goat assists throughout the class,

which looked a little something like this.

We also did the farm tour after class where we got to see the instructor Victoria's

garden where her family grows nearly all their own food.

And then we tasted some fresh cheese. On our way home, we made a stop at Peekamoose

which is this natural swimming hole formed by

sand and swirling gravel in an ancient whirlpool.

It's definitely chilly, but it feels so good on a hot summer day.

And of course, we made an ice cream stop because no road trip is complete without it.

Retired doctor turned chef Demira welcomed us into her home

to teach us how to make dumplings and other foods,

just like her mother and grandmother and so on.

but don't stress as they send you recipes

with the full measurements before each class.

a recipe is just a recommendation from one chef to

another and in this case from Demirah's grandmother to us.

It was such an amazing Homey experience where she told us sweet stories of cooking

with her family growing up and how she adores cooking with her grandchildren now.

and you could sense that throughout the class.

It's even better that it was such a collaborative,

after we had our dumplings and our salads,

it was time to gather around the table and enjoy

our Uzbeked feasts and hear more stories from Deira.

This was such a rare gem of an experience.

If you're looking for beach gear like towels and chairs,

we got ours from Target for under $10 each item,

The waves were huge and everyone was having the best time in the water.

I really wanted to make a little art piece that

we could bring home and commemorate the beach day.

So I had this idea to paint the sea and use glue to add sand and seashells.

It's super beginner friendly and I'm literally going to think about this beach

day every time I see our artwork hung up in our home.

We took the ferry back during sunset and the views were amazing.

It was really well orchestrated and highly theatrical,

He definitely had us all walking away quite mystified and wondering how he did it.

we could see him having his own show in Vegas one day.

he has a show about once a month of the Algonquins,

so definitely try to catch him while he has his residency.

• go early, we got there at 9am 
• it can get crowded and if you’re driving entrance fee is $10 and parking is limited
• highly recommend doing the footpath to the top of the dam (don’t bring too many things if you want to do this or take turns to go up)

Take the metro north to Croton Harmon 

amazing waterfall views that's easy to get to?

This is your sign to take the Metro North from

Grand Central to Croton Harman in under an hour.

Then take a 7 minute Uber to reach Croton Gorge Park and enjoy these stunning views.

We found a picnic table right under a tree with a view of the waterfall dam,

and enjoyed the views while feasting on all the food we brought.

An ice cream truck pulled up and we definitely got some!

We played some badminton and games we brought before

following the footpath to the top of the dam.

It was only 12 minutes to reach the top and oh wow,
