Drive to Heybrook Lookout Trailhead in Index for a beginner-friendly 2.6 miles hike. Enjoy stunning views from the lookout deck and birdwatching.

Drive to Heybrook Lookout Trailhead

Looking for an after work hike or a friend  wants to try out hiking?

Just an hour drive away from Seattle is Heybrook Lookout.

It is a 2.6 miles hike that is super beginner friendly.

It can be steep in some parts, but it's nothing that's not manageable.

You'll know when you're almost there when you start seeing these cute fellas

by the end of the trail is Heybrook look out

weather permitting. You can climb up to the deck.

The best part of this hike is just climbing up these windy stairs

and then you can reward yourself with the views of the Cascades.

I know it's September, but it's always gonna be

granola girl summer. So, go ahead and hike away.

💪 Pro tips
• There is often plenty of street parking on the east side of Cal Anderson park (about 2 blocks from the studio).
•  I also enjoy Jess Klein’s heated vinyasa class. If you decide to take a heated class from Sweatbox, PLEASE BE AWARE THAT IT IS VERY VERY HOT! A DRYP heated class, for instance, feels cool compared to a Sweatbox heated vinyasa — please be prepared, rest when you need to and bring lots of water!

you know that I practice yoga at DRYP in South Lake Union,

but I also go to Sweatbox Yoga in Capitol Hill.

but they also have a loft area that offers unheated classes.

there is a door in your loft with a keypad,

Y'all know that I love Kelly Fulford's class over at DRYP,

so I basically followed her over to Sweatbox to take her Saturday morning vinyasa.

so I recommend getting there early to get a prime spot.

I personally like to be at the front because I don't like looking at

And I really like this class because it's more

of a creative flow and perfect for all levels.

Just a couple blocks away is Anchorhead Coffee where I get a blueberry matcha.

but it also kind of tastes like a Froot Loop,

But this is such a treat to get after yoga.

It's no secret that I love to go to the movies and

the Boeing IMAX theater at the Pacific Science Center is no exception.

which is why I like to check back frequently.

The auditorium itself is big but not too big,

and I actually like the fact that you can't reserve seats.

This pizza was so big it tried to be a third wheel on a date night.

Last Friday we explored Rocco's on 2nd Avenue.

It turned out to be the kind of place with low lighting,

and the smell of garlic and melted cheese in the air.

we had the cheesy garlic herb focaccia with marinara sauce.

It raised our expectations for the pizza to be even more satisfying,

Our half jalapeno face and half tikka tikka pizza arrived,

The chicken tikka hit all the right notes for Indian taste buds,

while the jalapeno face with all the cream cheese bread

crumbs really took the pizza to the next level.
