• This is what we ordered and it was perfect: we started with oysters, shared a seasonal gnocchi app, and each got a seafood entree (the black cod and halibut). 
• For dessert you must try the orange sponge cake! It was so unique and so tasty - I wish I could relive that bite in the video!!

but this might be my favorite romantic weekend

getaway that I've ever filmed for the nudge.

My boyfriend and I spent the weekend at Captain Whidbey

it was so magical. So here's the scoop on what we did.

You're gonna start by taking the ferry from Mukilteo

to Clinton and then you'll be on Whidbey Island.

It was so nice out so we headed straight for Ebey's Landing.

This is a short little bluff side hike with a fascinating history

so it's definitely worth it to stop and read the signs about it.

It was also just a great way to stretch our legs after the drive.

Then it was finally time to check in at Captain Whidbey. This lodge was built in 1907

It feels like adult summer camp when you're there.

And the rooms have such a classic PNW aesthetic. I was obsessed.

We stayed in the lagoon rooms and I highly recommend those.

At night you're gonna head to a tiny hidden cocktail bar with very low-key vibes.

It's called Overboard. This was a non-alcoholic margarita that was so good

This is a farm-to-table spot that absolutely blew me away.

I have details in the notes about what to order. But hear me loud and clear

when I say you must get this orange sponge cake for dessert, it was mind blowing.

In the morning you're gonna head to Coupeville and grab pastries at little red hen.

This is a locals staple and I highly recommend getting a sweet and savory option

and taking them to this viewpoint, Sean told me that um this is a whale watching spot.

I didn't see any whales but it was still very beautiful.

After pastries, we saw signs for a sculpture forest.

We didn't know what that meant, but we definitely wanted to check it out.

It's a short little trail and there's a ton of art pieces along the trail.

Then we decided to go into Langley. There's so much to explore here.

It's just a really cute little town and I

the restaurant that's on-site at Captain Whidbey. This was just such a good meal.

Those are mussels that are literally from Penn Cove Bay, which is around the corner.

and I know this is a weird thing to get excited about

but guys, that chicken was the most flavorful thing I've ever

had like so many good seasonal treats in it.

Definitely make sure to hang by the fire at night time.

The Ladies Room

Grab your swimsuits and your girlfriends,

and facility that offers different types of rest,

the people at the front desk go over the rules with you,

the main one being that silence is golden and no phones are allowed.

Showers and locker room are truly so beautiful.

There are 3 pools you get to play around in a hot pool,

My friend Nikki and I both tried out the cold plunge pool,

which took an insane amount of breath work and of course she dunked her head under,

which then meant that I had to dunk my head under the pool.

It was so cold I literally ran out of there.

I knew I wanted to spend time in one of the saunas and luckily they have 3 options.

so much time just breathing great eucalyptus air.

Since Nikki and I were the only ones there,

we spent the majority of the time yapping,

and massages that you can add on on top of exploring the pools and the sauna.

After about an hour of relaxing in the pools,

we got back into our robes and headed to the relaxation room.

It has a bunch of cute couches you can sit at,

This was a really nice way to end our day,

I would definitely come back here and I hope you do too.
