My ideal weekend getaway consists of cozy, rainy weather,

a unique spa experience, and my new favorite hobby playing golf.

Venturing 90 minutes north of the city is a

cozy spot by the Russian river called Dawn Ranch.

We stayed in the grove and I was instantly intrigued at the details of the room.

There's a huge variety of other rental options,

each with their own unique and sophisticated design.

we woke up early and headed to morning hot yoga in the boat house.

Dawn Ranch features different complementary amenities every day

Even in the bad weather. After a much needed yoga session,

we headed to my favorite experience on the property,

we were greeted with delicious herbal tea and we were instructed to

start our magnesium bath bomb where we added Epsom magnesium salts,

a crystal of our choosing and a few drops

from a local winery called Landmark Vineyards.

We enjoyed the different red blends. Our favorite was the Pinot noir.

Hence the double fisting. Now it's time for dinner. The rain added to the ambience.

All the food was delicious and our favorite was the Razorback clams.

And since it was raining, we were able to enjoy the daily S’mores in our room.

we had the cutest little brunch and cheersed to

the start of a great day with pomegranate mimosas.

We recommend the Dawn Ranch burger, the Korean fried

chicken and a little sweet cinnamon bun because treat yourself!

Now it's golf time at this little gem in the redwoods,

swing away at the Majestic Northwood golf course,

nine holes between redwoods and babbling brooks.

This unique track is rated as the eighth best public course in California.

The rain scared everyone away but we had the

best time being the only group on the course.

Thousand Trails Russian River 

Thousand Trails Russian River is a great spot for a relaxed weekend trip.

The best part is the river is just a 5 minute walk away from your site.

The beach is perfect for swimming or floating.

We walked 5 minutes upstream and floated back down for about 15 minutes.

There are a couple of small rapids that keep things exciting.

It really is the perfect weekend getaway!

Every Friday night there is a live jazz band performing providing the perfect

music to go along with the Art Deco theme of the bar.

The location is full of rich history and stunning art that

pays homage to the elegance of a 1930s jazz lounge.

Everyone was enjoying the ambience while the drinks

were being poured and the band was playing.

As I enjoyed the music and some light snacks provided,

I was given a walkthrough of each one I tried

and their unique flavor profiles and cocktail pairings.

Gold Bar Distillery also offers cocktail making classes Tuesday through Sunday,

and there is also a sunset DJ performance every Sunday.
