• It's important to make reservations because this place fills up quickly. Check out their website: https://avalancheranch.com/

💪 Pro tips
• Skip the rentals and bring your own towels and bathrobe if you're making it a day trip. 
• I recommend bringing 2 towels each--one for drying off between soaks and one to dry off after your post hot springs shower. (Especially true if you're going in winter, because the towels get freezing when wet!)

💪 Pro tips
• Each of the pools are a different temperature, so be sure to check them all out.
• You're not allowed to bring glass into the soaking areas. We brought our own reusable water bottles since they do have a water refill station.

Visit Penny Hot Springs for a nature-infused soak. Ideal for an earlier day trip to avoid crowds and require careful footing on slippery paths.

✅ Before you go
• Make sure you download the driving directions to your phone. Cell service is often spotty on this part of the road. Penny Hot Springs doesn't have an address, but if you type it into Google maps, GPS will lead you right there. 

💪 Pro tips
• Bring sandals or water shoes with good traction. The very short hill down from the road to river can get a little slippery.
• Earlier in the day is usually less crowded. The apres ski and post hike crowd tends to get here in the afternoon.

Give yourself some well deserved downtime with these hot springs in Redstone,

Colorado. Avalanche Ranch is a family owned and run historic landmark.

It has three private hot springs for guests, like this temperate pool

with a waterfall, or you can test out my favorite spot

You have the option to reserve a day pass

or you can reserve one of these really cute little

cabins with kitchenettes, wood heaters, and lofted beds,

with a ground floor option if ladders are hard for you.

but you still want that hot spring experience, just down the road

a three minute drive is Penny Hot Springs.

It's a public pull off spot with creek bed pools and

whether you're here for half a day or several days,

I promise these spots are worth the trip.

a cool experience to see the project come together.

The Welch Ditch Trail is an hike near Golden with views.

Park at Gateway Trailhead in Clear Creek Canyon Park for easy access to the scenic Welch Ditch Trail, which follows the creek with canyon and mountain views.

There are a few options to access the trail. 
• The most direct is parking at the Gateway Trailhead then crossing over the creek on the footbridge. 
• If this lot is full, you can also park in downtown Golden then walk west along Clear Creek to get to the footbridge.

As someone who has always been immensely afraid of heights,

I never imagined you'd catch me flipping from a trapeze bar,

Fly Mile High was the perfect way to conquer my fears and try something new.

we went through a safety briefing and instructions,

including on the ground training before climbing the ladder.

To say I was nervous is the understatement of the century,

but the Fly Mile High team completely calmed my fears,

I was feeling like a real circus performer.

This group of total strangers were all cheering for each other like mad by the end,

and I truly can't remember the last time I felt that empowered.

We decided to treat ourselves with a sweet treat after,

so made our way over to Frozen Spirals for some rolled ice cream.

This was the most unexpectedly fun outing,
