Book Reading Rhythms

If you're like me and you recently refound your love for reading,

but you don't necessarily want to give up being social,

you have to check out this reading party called Reading Rhythms.

We went to one at two doors down in Les recently and it was such a vibe.

Everyone gets a name tag and we grabbed some mocktails because when in Rome,

So of course, we had to give it a try. Both were very good.

They kicked things off by explaining how the reading

party idea started A K A with a few friends

on a rooftop who wanted to read and actually hang out. Then you

do a quick centering breath and you actually sit down to read. 

which really helps you get in the mood to focus on whatever book you brought.

They break things up having you chat to the people around you,

which means it's a great way to meet like-minded

readers and to get some good new book recs.

This was such a unique experience and a welcome break

from the insanity of living in New York City.

way to switch up my routine and start the morning.

@journalingclasses offers a somatic body painting workshop!

We started off with writing our names and collectively picked a tarot card.

I love how we got to write down a word that resonated with us on our matchbox

and then lit our intention candles with it.

We drew and painted on the canvas and our bodies

and even danced a little in response to each prompt.

It was such a loving space of vulnerability,

I've never played with paint like this before and my inner child was so happy.

It was so transformative and I left feeling re-centered and loved 💕
