Come with me for an overnight staycation in Pacific

grab dinner at the Headlands Hotel and take in all the nature

We planned to arrive right around lunch time and you know, your girl is always hungry.

We hit up Doryland pizza, which is right across from the coast.

Don't let this unsuspecting little pizza shop fool you.

They have the best buffalo chicken pizza I have ever had in my life.

We got our order to go and set up a little picnic on the beach,

then just hung out and relaxed for a few hours till our room was ready for

Lucky for us, their check in time was right at their free happy hour as well.

So we got some cocktails and hung out in the lobby before heading to our room.

The rooms have these gorgeous balconies that gave you a great view of

Kiwanda Haystack Rock. And they even give you these cute little binoculars.

we went and explored all the amenities the hotel had to

offer including this awesome outdoor jacuzzi and beautiful on site restaurant.

We came back down here for an evening dinner after showering and

I must say the espresso martinis here are 10 out of 10

dinner, ran a little bit later than expected.

But the tide was still low enough that we

had time to explore some of these rock structures and

search around for a few small tide pools that

had starfish and other little sea creatures in them.

We made sure to get an earlier start the next day so we could spend more

time seeing the starfish and the anemones and all the other sea life before we

had to head back and we were not disappointed! If you have friends in town or

if you're from Oregon and you've never made it out to see the tide pools

Put it on your bucket list. You've got to make it out to Pacific City this summer.

• it's a bit pricey (but again so worth every penny) - but getting a group of friends together and splitting the cost makes it much more affordable!

• for us, the hut ~was~ the destination, so we didn't make plans to leave/explore the area much.
But if you want to, there's some great spots to visit nearby! You'll be within about 1-1.5 hours of Mt Rainier and Mt St Helens, so lots of hiking options!
The guest book is also full of recs for other fun things to do in the area - like a cute little train ride at a rail museum, an alpaca farm tour, and more!

This Airbnb in Washington has to be added to your bucket list.

It's themed after Hagrid’s Hut from Harry Potter,

it's also just the coziest cabin you'll ever stay

in with such amazing craftsmanship and attention to detail.

this place absolutely blew our minds and truly made us feel like we were in the movie.

from the biggest bed I've ever seen to the tallest

showerhead to the sinks you had to step up to

to the utensils and the plates and all the furniture

one of the other best parts about this place is that

you can truly tell how much care went into creating it.

And, the magic isn't confined within the walls.

you can find a replica of the Weasley's car,

as well as Professor Sprout's cute little greenhouse, with a mandrake,

we made some tea and dug into all the fun things included,

all the movies pre-downloaded onto the TV,

There are so many things I didn't even cover,

so you've got to check it out for yourself.

The 1905

There's truly nothing better than listening to live jazz

You'll have to check out 1905 Jazz Bar located on

Mississippi Ave to share in all of the goodness.

Tickets are around $25 for a 90 minute show.

While you are seated and listening to some smooth jazz,

you can order from their Italian kitchen,

which has great pasta options like this gemelli

pasta with white cream sauce and sausage.

They also have pizza by the slice and desserts too.

This band was called The Balmer/Radsliff Experience,

It was so great to hear them riff and play off of each other.

There were only about 50 people in the venue,

which makes this a perfectly intimate yet cool option

You also can't go wrong with walking Mississippi

Ave afterwards with tons of options for shopping,

Highly recommend this unique way to spend your next weekend night!

Head to Sunblossom Farm

This is your plan to u-pick at a local urban flower farm.

and it's tucked away inside a neighborhood in Northeast,

making it feel like such a gorgeous hidden gem.

Their u-pick season lasts from around June to early October,

and they also have tons of other offerings

like plenty of events throughout the summer

and also some great ones in the fall and winter like floral wreath making.

One of my favorite things about Sunblossom is their

efforts to make the farm accessible to everyone.

They have a bouquet window where you pay what you can

for a bouquet and the proceeds go to a local charity,

u-pick days, and they host volunteer days where you can swing

by to help out and take home a free bucket of flowers.

I went with a group of friends and we had such a good time just hanging out,

and I really loved getting to see what different

flowers everyone picked and how they arranged them.

though they do recommend bringing your own vase to minimize waste.

There are tons of vases in their gift shop and

a lot of other great locally made goodies as well.

This is one of our new favorite food cart pods in Portland.

plus indoor seating for when it's a little bit chilly outside,

but one of the best parts is their rooftop,

We really enjoyed our food and loved the variety that they had to offer.

but clearly I struggled a little bit more,

You can tell that this spot is meant to be a community hub,

and it's the kind of place you don't want to leave.

They also host lots of events like concerts and comedy nights.
