• Baleen Kitchen overlooks the docks with weekly live music and locally sourced cuisine! The wasabi mashed potatoes were amazing, and I loved the carbonara 🤤
• Take a short walk along the water to the boardwalk! They had so many restaurants, bars, and stores (including ice cream!)🍦 
• check out the Dockside Adventures at the hotel for beach cruiser, bike, paddleboard, and kayak rentals!! 🚲

Staycation at The Portofino Hotel & Marina

I've been getting a little tired of being stuck in the city

lately and always dreamed of waking up to an ocean view.

So we went on a little beach getaway to the Portofino Hotel in Redondo last weekend.

They are dog friendly and have the kindest staff,

and we loved our beautiful balcony overlooking the marina.

We watched seals playing and boats going by as we relaxed and sipped

some bubbly and ate an amazing meal at Baleen Kitchen next door.

we explored the boardwalk for ice cream and

found a bustling skate park and nightlife.

The next morning we woke up to more seals,

and even had a little bike cruise for coffee. Back for beach life in just a few weeks!

• Roobarb Studios is not a flower shop and is usually closed to the public besides these types of workshops and events — but they also host dinner parties, wine nights, paint nights, and more, which all look super cool! Can’t wait to go back!

workshops in their adorable studio space.

I went to a class on spring floral arranging and tablescapes,

and all tools and materials (and some fun beverages) were included.

She provided flowers that we could find ourselves

and took us through ways to add dimension,

I absolutely loved how my design came out

and it was fun to see how everyone else in the workshop

used the same materials to create something unique.

• it gets chilly near the water (especially at night!) so bring layers and a blanket to sit on when you get tired!
• I definitely recommend a long pants + comfy shoe combo but that’s just me

💪 Pro tips
• We found metered parking on Herondo Street ~20min walk from the GA Entrance and the bike taxi was $20 and got us there in about 5 minutes instead! 🚲
• the churros are amazing, and there are so many stands for food and drinks and special popups including one for Ikon Pass holders!
• upcoming performances today and Sunday include Sublime, Pretenders, The Beach Boys with John Stamos, Alanis Morisette, and so many more! 🤩

My friend Haley and I had the most magical time

at day one of BeachLife Festival in Redondo!

and found the most perfect spot to sit and watch Train.

We ate some incredible churros and watched as the iconic Lenny Kravitz performed.

• Make SURE you get there on time because they lock the front doors to the studio the minute the class starts. 
• There’s a parking lot right across the street (though I recommend ride-sharing — more on that below)

💪 Pro tips
• I’d ride-share/uber over there if possible! after some of these classes it’s common to feel a little loopy and lightheaded (which isn’t a great state of mind to be in while driving)
• There are lockers where you can store your things before going into the studio (very convenient)
• There is also a sauna and a cold plunge experience that you should check out.
