I finally went to the viral cake decorating workshop I've been

seeing online and made myself a cute little Lorex looking cake.

which is a cake decorating workshop in Brooklyn

hosted by this creativity studio called Recreate Collective,

where you get to be creative and get a sweet treat,

which I'm not sure what took me so long to go.

you're free to decorate your cake however you want.

One of the girls was saying how fun it was doing the things our parents never let us do,

They also have solo days where everyone comes solo with the idea of making friends,

which I definitely want to come back for.

And when I said you get a sweet treat at the end,

I mean you literally get a slice of cake on top of the cake you've decorated.

you get to have your cake and eat it too.

I highly recommend going to one of their classes or events,

as this was one of my favorite classes to date.

I need to peep you on this 2-hour intimate workshop where

you create your own signature fragrance using only raw materials.

We explored over 40 different ingredients and what I

loved most was how guided the whole experience was.

We started with base notes then move into the middle,

layer as we went so you can really compare and feel the scent coming together.

You can also take photos of your booklet,

upload it using the QR code to reorder your signature scent whenever you run out.

the founder guides you through everything.

He's incredibly knowledgeable and makes sure everyone gets personal attention.

I didn't really like my scent at one point and he suggested adding something and bam,

It was so fun being surrounded by like-minded people,

sharing our creations and thoughts on different scents.

Lysèe

I've been seeing the hype of Lysee for over a year and decided to

take advantage of my free afternoon to pop in and try their legendary desserts.

I asked the waitress to recommend a drink and grabbed their

signature latte made with whole milk slightly sweetened with brown rice.

The tasting menu consists of four full-size desserts.

The corn is made to look like corn on the cob,

Then came a palate-cleansing, light fruit tart,

they also have a la carte menus upstairs.

And if you have a sweet tooth and a free afternoon,

screw the New Year's diet and feed your soul here.

Make a reservation at HOUSE Brooklyn

This luxury restaurant is hiding in plain sight,

nestled in the back of a Japanese retail store in Brooklyn,

House Brooklyn offers an intimate 9 course tasting experience with just

2 seatings a day and only 10 guests at a time.

Chef Yuji Tani ran his acclaimed Tokyo restaurant for over a

decade before opening up the sister location here in 2019.

He combines a French technique with his Kyoto heritage to

create a tasting menu that changes with the season.

I got to try everything from the Wagyu truffle sushi

to a slow cooked gruber and even foie gras pilaf.

I was really nervous to try the foie gras,

but it ended up being one of my favorites.

The restaurant has an open concept kitchen,

so you can see everything being prepared.

You can tell chef usually gets just as much joy

watching you taste the food as you do eating it.

It was very natural to chat with your neighbor or the staff.

The nine course experience costs $180 but is

absolutely worth every penny in my opinion.
