• Wear comfortable, closed toe shoes that you don’t mind getting dirty!
• I would recommend using an Easter basket versus the one that pops up when you look on Amazon. The mesh basket was squishing our mushrooms, which made it a challenge to get them home in one piece!
• Be sure to wear pants because you will absolutely be gallivanting through the forest where there aren’t any marked trails, which means there are plenty of branches and brambles that will scratch you up!

• Make sure to check your check-in time for your accommodations!

💪 Pro tips
• I know this Nudge says “weekend” but I actually visited Sunday-Tuesday! Weekday stays were about half the price of a weekend stay!! I think I saved about $300. 
• If possible, I would try to stay in the little town area. It was nice being able to walk everywhere and not worry about parking.
• I recommend listening to an audio book to pass the time.
• Get gas on your way to Leavenworth — it’s so much cheaper! (But do NOT!! Get gas in town, it’s the same price as Seattle).

💪 Pro tips
• I never miss a chance to support a local bookstore, but if you are solo-traveling like me, I really recommend getting a book! It gives you something to do when you’re eating, for instance. Solo-eating can sometimes be daunting, and this is a great way to get over that anxiety! I also recommend podcasts, an audio book or journaling!

Grab a delicious burger and enjoy a vibrant patio at Colchuck’s, a great solo dining spot if you’re seeking local eats beyond German fare in Leavenworth.

💪 Pro tips
• If you don’t feel like eating German food, the burger is a delicious alternative! 
• I also really enjoyed my (terrifyingly blue) Italian soda. 
• If you’re still new to solo-eating, I promise it’s not weird! I try to sit at small tables and really loved the patio!

Take a peaceful evening stroll along the Wenatchee River in Leavenworth and discover a quiet swimming area surrounded by nature.

• Not exactly sure what the official name of this is, but I just walked along the Wenatchee River! There were some signs that led to a swimming area, so I just followed them.

Start your day with a 7-mile round trip hike at Lake Valhalla Trailhead, about 45 minutes from Leavenworth. Enjoy scenic mountain views and peaceful nature.

Enjoy delicious pasta and friendly service at Visconti's Italian Restaurant in downtown Leavenworth. Walk in and dine solo at the cozy bar area—no reservation needed!

• I didn’t have a reservation, I just walked in and sat in the 21+ area. 
• I had a hard time finding the entrance, but it’s a long the Main Street! 

💪 Pro tips
• End your night with some ice cream at Whistlepunk Ice Cream Co.! But note that they aren’t dog friendly, so you have to leave your pup outside. I just tied Edgar to a nearby railing.

I just came back from my first solo trip to Leavenworth and I had so much fun.

which was right in town and it was seriously the perfect size for one person,

especially if you're a first-time solo traveler,

it can sometimes feel awkward to eat by yourself,

I always make it a point to stop by Posy,

which is a lot less touristy than the other shops,

and I ended up getting one of these bowls.

I ended up going to Colchuck's for dinner,

which worked out perfect because they had these little single tables outside.

I actually had probably one of the best burgers of my life here.

I swung by the Airbnb to pick up my dog and we headed down to the waterfront.

but I just followed the signs to get to the little swimming hole.

so it was just us there and it was so peaceful.

I went to Visconti's and I had such a good time.

I sat in the little bar area and the pasta and service were so good,

Afterwards I swung by the Airbnb to pick up my dog and got some ice cream.

so it's a little bit of a walk or a quick 5 minute drive.

so I got the breakfast one which is delicious,

but I will say I did not like the matcha.

I picked up my dog and headed back to the city.

• Here’s everything you need to know about the Lake Serene/Bridal Veil Falls hike: https://www.wta.org/go-hiking/hikes/lake-serene 🥾
• The hike is about 8.2 miles round-trip if you do the add-on to Bridal Veil Falls! I say “about” because our watches said it was closer to 8.5-ish! ⌚️
• The trailhead is about an hour to an hour and a half drive, depending on traffic! 🚗
• Begin your hike from the parking lot! You will see the turn off for bridal Vale Falls before you hit the 2-mile mark! 💦
• I encouraged you to do it on your way up! We somehow missed the turn off entirely on our way back down! 😱
• During the summer, you can get in near the fall! BE CAREFUL THOUGH! Don’t get swept away‼️‼️‼️
• Once you climb back down, finish the hike to Lake serene! Trust me, the stairs are worth it! 🥵
• Once you get to the lake, don’t miss the little path down to the water, the perfect lunch spot at Lunch Rock, and a final viewpoint that overlooks the valley opposite the lake! ⛰️
• On a clear day, you can see Mount index! ☀️

💪 Pro tips
• Of you only want to do Lake Serene, the hike is closer to 7 miles! But I HIGHLY recommend the waterfall! 🙏
• A Northwest Forest Pass is required for this! (We bought ours in the parking lot and put our confirmation number on the dash!) 🌲
• This hike is perfect in the summer to experience the sunshine and in the fall to see the fall colors! 🍁
• Pups are allowed! 🐶

Lace up! 

Here's a hike only about 1 hour from Seattle with huge payoff.

The Lake Serene and Bridal Veil Falls hike is about 8 miles round-trip total,

What I loved about this hike was all of the water features.

We came across so many little streams before we even hit our first big stop.

you can see I almost wiped out here trying to explore.

Just about 1.5 miles into the Lake Serene Trail,

you'll hit the turnoff for Bridal Veil Falls.

This might be my favorite waterfall I've seen so far,

and you get incredible views of the valley below too.

because it's actually easy to miss on the way back down.

Once you go down and rejoin the main trail,

The final ascent is about 1300 ft up in a mile and a half.

I was kind of dying by the time we reached the top,

but I encourage you to keep following the trail around to Lunch Rock.

It's an iconic spot for a snack overlooking the lake.

• Spring Bistro just opened in August 2025, and the owner is still expanding the menu — with a mix of authentic Chinese dishes and creative fusion additions.
• The Farmer’s Pork and Mashed Eggplant with Jalapeño and Century Egg both originate from Hunan cuisine, where they’re usually much spicier — but the milder version here at Spring Bistro is way gentler on the stomach (and still super flavorful!).

Bright and modern inside with bold dishes lands on tradition

with a twist and beautiful tea drinks worth a toast.

Look no further than this newly opened Asian fusion - spring bistro.

Step in and you'll find calligraphy scrolls,

and a sleek bar that doubles as a minimalist library of liquors.

We first tried the jasmine tea flight with one topped with creamy coconut foam,

and the last pink one is a cocktail infused with shiso

We also had plum marinated cherry tomato,

farmer's pork stir fried with douchi sauce,

mashed eggplant with jalapeno and century egg,

and lastly the Dan Dan noodle with veggie and pork sauce.

We wrapped up with a rice wine soft pudding topped with osmanthus syrup.

So come give it a try and you might just find a new favorite.
